Families flee brutal attacks in DR Congo.

Armed groups wreak havoc in DR Congo

In eastern DR Congo, thousands of families are currently fleeing the advance of several armed groups.

Wherever the groups go, they carry out executions, rapes, mutilations, and abductions.

We have a strong presence in the affected areas, but we need your help. You can provide protection, shelter, and crisis assistance to families fleeing in the hope of finding safety.

Thank you for your support!

Aimée saw her husband murdered

Aimée saw her husband murdered

Over the past several months, nearly 6,000 people have been displaced in DR Congo's Ituri province alone. In a single attack, 60 people were murdered, 25 abducted and an unknown number injured or abused.

One of the survivors is a young mother, Aimée. She saw her husband murdered but managed to escape with her children. During her escape, she met Marie, another young mother fleeing the cruel attack. The two families walked for five days to reach the town of Oicha, where our local staff are now helping them to cope. Aimée is still in shock and needs psychosocial support, so Marie has to take care of both families.

DR Congo is a country in deep crisis. The wave of violence can be seen as the culmination of long-standing instability, ethnic tensions, and an economy in freefall.

We have a strong presence in the affected areas. But we do not have enough resources to help all the vulnerable families who are now fleeing in the hope of finding safety. Help us provide protection and shelter!
