More than 10,000 people are missing and thousands are dead. Enormous amounts of water have burst two dams near the city of Derna and half of the city has almost completely been swept away by the water masses.
DRC Danish Refugee Council is already present in Libya and is helping the many affected families. You can support the emergency response and save lives.
"Our staff here tells us that the extent of destruction is nothing less apocalyptic." Says Charlotte Slente, Secretary General of DRC Danish Refugee Council.
"Half of Derna city has been wiped off the map and the extent of the devastation will leave scars in the region for decades."
